Many of these are just a short drive from Boise and Meridian, making them perfect to pair with a quick getaway, scenic drive, or full day exploring somewhere new.

JUNE (ANNUAL): BOISE MUSIC FESTIVAL

MAY–SEPTEMBER: IDAHO SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL

LATE AUGUST (ANNUAL): SPIRIT OF BOISE BALLOON CLASSIC

Early mornings filled with colorful hot air balloons lifting off across Boise. This is one of the most visually memorable events of the year and completely family-friendly. Morning event | Free

Why go: Easy outing, great for kids, and one of the most iconic Boise experiences.

JUNE (ANNUAL): WEISER RIVER MUSIC FESTIVAL

A smaller, more laid-back music festival with a strong community feel. Expect bluegrass, folk music, and a slower pace that’s perfect for a relaxing day outside. Dates vary | Often free or low-cost

JULY (SELECT YEARS): JAIALDI (BOISE)

One of Boise’s most iconic cultural events celebrating Basque heritage through food, music, dancing, and community gatherings. Not held every year, which makes it even more special when it returns. Multi-day event | Ticketed + free components
