Descending through Gold Finch and Owl’s Roost, shaded paths, water features, and an educational surprise create an ideal trail for all abilities.

Nestled in the heart of historic Boise neighborhoods, Camel’s Back Reserve is a gateway to an array of trails. Easily accessible with ample parking, these trails vary in difficulty. A short climb leads to a bluff boasting panoramic views of Boise and the foothills. After the hike, the park welcomes families with large grass fields and a playground.

For a delightful family stroll, head to the Military Reserve trailhead for the Elephant Rock loop. This one-mile trek is perfect for all ages, especially little ones. Although shaded areas are scarce, the highlight—a rock formation resembling an elephant—adds a touch of excitement at the end.
