September 2026 Events in the Treasure Valley
September might be one of the best months to live in the Treasure Valley.
Summer isn't completely gone, fall is starting to show up, and the calendar is packed with some of the area's biggest community traditions. From hot air balloons filling the Boise sky to Art in the Park, Hyde Park Street Fair, Indian Creek Festival and the first fall events of the season, there's plenty happening.
We've rounded up some of the Treasure Valley September 2026 events, plus a few tips to help you decide which ones are right for you.
September Events | Treasure Valley 2026
September 2-6 | Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic
Ann Morrison Park | Boise
September starts BIG with the 35th Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic.
Morning launches take place Wednesday through Sunday, with Kid's Day on September 2, the popular Nite Glow Spectacular on Friday evening, Family Morning Launch on Saturday and the final Great Launch Sunday morning.
💰 Cost: Free to attend
👨👩👧 Best for: Everyone, especially families and photographers
💡 Good to know: Balloon launches are weather-dependent, and you'll want to arrive well before launch time if you're heading onto the field.

September 5 | Meat & Tater BBQ Fest and Car Show
Julius M. Kleiner Park | Meridian
10am-4pm
If BBQ and classic cars sound like a pretty good Saturday, put this one on the calendar.
The second annual Meat & Tater BBQ Fest & Car Show takes over Kleiner Park with food, vehicles and a community festival atmosphere.
👨👩👧 Best for: Families, car lovers and anyone showing up primarily for lunch.
💡 Good to know: Kleiner is a big park, but events can make parking busier than usual. Give yourself a little (or a lot) extra time.
September Tuesdays | Farm to Fork + Tuesdays on the Creek
Indian Creek Plaza | Caldwell
Not every September outing needs to take over your entire Saturday.
Caldwell's Farm to Fork Farmers Market continues Tuesday evenings from 5–8 PM, alongside Tuesdays on the Creek from 6–9 PM. The market features 30+ vendors, while live music takes over the plaza nearby.
💰 Cost: Free to attend
👨👩👧 Best for: Easy weeknight outing, date night or families
💡 Good to know: Grab dinner from a downtown restaurant or vendor and make an evening of both events instead of treating them separately.
September 11-13 | Boise Art Museum's Art in the Park
Julia Davis Park | Boise
This is one of September's BIG ones.
Art in the Park celebrates its 72nd year with 240 artists, around 30 food vendors, live music and entertainment, plus hands-on children's activities. Admission is free.
Hours
Friday, Sept. 11: 10 AM–8 PM
Saturday, Sept. 12: 10 AM–8 PM
Sunday, Sept. 13: 10 AM–5 PM
The Children's Art Tent runs Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM–4 PM.
💰 Cost: FREE
👨👩👧 Best for: Families, art lovers, shopping local and a date-day outing
💡 Good to know: This is NOT the weekend we'd expect to casually roll into Julia Davis and immediately find the perfect parking spot.
Plan to walk, use the event's parking/shuttle information and wear comfortable shoes.
September 11-12 | World Village Festival
JUMP Boise
World Village brings together music, dance, storytelling, poetry, art, film and food representing cultures from throughout Idaho's communities. The 2026 event is scheduled for September 11–12 and is free and open to all ages.
💰 Cost: FREE
👨👩👧 Best for: All ages
💡 Good to know: This falls on the same weekend as Art in the Park, so you could potentially make a full Boise day out of the two rather than choosing only one.
September 12 | Boise Fall Festival + Kids Discovery Expo
EXPO Idaho
September 12 is going to be BUSY at Expo Idaho.
Both the Boise Fall Festival and Kids Discovery Expo are scheduled there that day.
If you're ready to start transitioning into fall activities, this could be a good weekend to do it.
👨👩👧 Best for: Families, especially those looking for an indoor/outdoor event-day option
💡 Good to know: With multiple events happening at Expo Idaho on the same day, we'd plan for extra traffic and check each event's individual schedule before heading over.
September 18-20 |The BIG Weekend
Apparently everyone looked at the September calendar and chose the same weekend...
September 18–20 is STACKED, so this is the weekend you'll probably want to plan ahead instead of deciding where to go Saturday morning.
September 18-20 | Hyde Park Street Fair
Hyde Park/Camel's Back Park | Boise
One of Boise's longest-running neighborhood traditions returns for three days of music, food, art and local vendors.
Hyde Park Street Fair has been around since 1979 and features nearly 200 vendor booths along with two stages of entertainment. Admission is free.

Friday: Begins at 4 PM
Saturday: 10 AM–9:30 PM
Sunday: 10 AM–6 PM
💰 Cost: FREE
👨👩👧 Best for: Families, friends, live music, local shopping and food
💡 Good to know: Parking in the North End is already limited on an ordinary beautiful weekend. For Street Fair weekend, expect to walk and pay close attention to neighborhood parking restrictions.
September 18-19 | Indian Creek Festival
Indian Creek Plaza | Downtown Caldwell
If you've never watched people attempt to race boats made primarily from cardboard and duct tape down Indian Creek, perhaps 2026 is your year!
The 23rd Annual Indian Creek Festival celebrates Caldwell's restored downtown creek with two days of activities. Friday evening includes live music and a car show, while Saturday brings the Fireman's Breakfast, classic cars, motorcycles, Chalk the Block, 4-H activities, vendors, tug-of-war and the famous Cardboard Kayak Race.
Friday: 6–9 PM
Saturday: Activities begin at 7 AM, with the vendor market from 10 AM–4 PM and Cardboard Kayak Race at 2 PM.
💰 Cost: FREE to attend
👨👩👧 Best for: Families and anyone wanting a very Caldwell-specific local event
💡 Good to know: If the kayak race is what you really want to see, don't just wander over whenever. Aim to be downtown well before the 2 PM race and give yourself time to park and walk.
September 18-19 | Eagle Jazz and Blues Fest
If your idea of a great September weekend involves significantly fewer bounce houses and significantly more live music, Eagle has you covered.
The two-day Eagle Jazz & Blues Fest features performances at venues around Eagle, with a mix of free community concerts and ticketed shows spanning jazz, blues, Americana and more.
👥 Best for: Adults, date night and live-music lovers
💡 Good to know: This isn't necessarily one single festival field. Check the performance schedule and venue for the artist you want to see before heading out.

Don't Forget the September Markets
September is also one of the last really good months to enjoy the Treasure Valley's outdoor market season before colder weather settles in.
The Eagle Saturday Market continues every Saturday through September from 9 AM–1 PM.
You'll also find Saturday markets continuing in Boise, Meridian and Nampa, while Caldwell's Farm to Fork Market runs Tuesday evenings.
💡 September market tip: This is when the produce starts getting GOOD for fall cooking. Keep an eye out for apples, squash and other seasonal Idaho produce as the month progresses.
September is Just the Beginning
September is that sweet spot in the Treasure Valley where you can attend an outdoor festival in a T-shirt during the afternoon and somehow still convince yourself it's officially fall because you bought an apple and saw one orange leaf..
